VINACONEX SPONSORS SARS-COV-2 CHEMICAL TEST KITS FOR HAI PHONG CITY

On August 26, 2020, a handover ceremony was held by Hai Phong City People's Committee where 2,000 SARS-COV-2 test kits and other necessary medical supplies worth VND 2 billion was presented by Vinaconex Corporation for COVID-19 prevention and combatting work
On the side of Hai Phong City People's Committee, there was the attendance of:
- Mr. Nguyen Van Tung – Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee.
- Mr. Le Ngoc Tru - Member of Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee, Director of Hai Phong City's Department of Finance
- Mr. Do Trang Thanh – Vice Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City
- Mrs. Pham Thi Xanh – Member of Municipal Party Committee, Director of Hai Phong City's Department of Health.
On the Vinaconex Corporation’s side, there was the attendance of:
- Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, President of the Trade Union of VINACONEX Corporation.
- Mr. Le Van Huy – General Director of VINACONEX Investment and Tourism Development JSC
- Mrs. To Thi Huong Lan – Deputy Chief of VINACONEX Corporation’s Office.
At the handover ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee, expressed his gratitude to enterprises for their support, saying it is still challenging to purchase testing chemicals for screening, zoning, and controlling risk factors in order to meet the current broad-based testing requirements, enterprises joining hands to support Hai Phong city in chemical test kits have made a substantial contribution to defeating the pandemic. He said that Hai Phong is dedicated to preventing diseases from spreading locally and would strive to further enhance its epidemic prevention measures.
Even though there isn’t a positive case in Hai Phong, the risk of infection is currently very high due to the complicated development of the epidemic situation in surrounding provinces. Therefore, the city has set up nine checkpoints at the gateway and more than 2,000 ones in residential areas, etc. As part of epidemic prevention and control, Hai Phong has made efforts to track down and test suspected cases and carried out broad-based tests thus a large number of chemical kits and medical equipment are required.
Previously, when the epidemic was complicated in Da Nang city, on August 11, 2020, Vinaconex Corporation donated about VND 2.5 billion in medical equipment that had never been equipped before to hospitals in Da Nang. Besides, on behalf of Vinaconex, Vinaconex 25 JSC, a Corporation’s member unit also presented VND 200,000,000 in cash to the Municipal Fatherland Front Committee for its COVID-19 prevention efforts.
