VINACONEX CORPORATION’S “BACK TO THE ROOTS” JOURNEY

Sat , 12/07/2025, 17:00:00 (GMT+7)

In celebration of the successful 6th Party Congress of VINACONEX Corporation for the 2025–2030 term, and in commemoration of the 78th War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2025), the VINACONEX Trade Union organized a “Back to the Roots” journey to the special national historical site of Con Dao on July 11–12, 2025.

The program had the attendance of members of the Corporation’s Party Executive Committees from both the 5th and 6th terms, the Trade Union’s Standing Committee and the Youth Unio’s Secretary of VINACONEX.

In Con Dao, the delegation offered incense and paid tribute at Nui Mot Pagoda (Van Son Tu) and visited the An Son Shrine dedicated to Lady Hoang Phi Yen. These are sacred sites of great cultural and historical significance. Notably, the An Son Shrine was restored and renovated with funding from VINACONEX Corporation prior to 2018, reflecting the corporation’s commitment to preserving national heritage.

With its harmonious blend of spiritual architecture and natural landscape, Nui Mot Pagoda is a place not only of worship for pilgrims from across the country, but also imbued with a deep sense of compassion, and reverence for national ancestors.

Continuing the journey, the delegation visited the Con Dao Museum, which houses precious artifacts and documents chronicling Vietnam’s resistance against colonial and imperial powers. The museum preserves haunting evidence of the notorious prison system, where tens of thousands of revolutionary soldiers were imprisoned and brutally tortured.

The cemetery, nestled in a solemn pine forest, is home to thousands of martyr graves, including those of iconic figures such as Le Hong Phong, Vo Thi Sau, and Nguyen An Ninh. It remains an essential destination for all memorial journeys to the island

Though brief, the journey left a lasting, sacred impression on every participant. It served not only as a heartfelt tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed for national independence and freedom, but also as a powerful spiritual source, rekindling national pride and inspiring the entire VINACONEX workforce to continue striving with innovation and dedication, contributing to a more prosperous and powerful Vietnam.
