On the afternoon of July 3, the Standing Committee of the Hanoi City Youth Union, in collaboration with Vinaconex Corporation’s Youth Union, held a preliminary conference to review Youth Uion work and the Youth movement of the Capital's workers and employees for the first half of the year as long as outline directions and tasks for the remaining six months of 2024.
Deputy Secretary of Hanoi Youth Union Tran Quang Hung attended the conference along with other leaders of the Youth Union's Departments and Offices and representatives of the capital's public sector units.
On the side of Vinaconex Corporation, there was the participation of Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, President of the Corporation’s Trade Union, and Mr. Hoang Thieu Bao, Secretary of the Corporation’s Youth, together with the Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries of unions under the corporation, and Executive Committee members of the Corporation's Youth Union.
During his speech, Mr. Tran Quang Hung praised the accomplishments of the public sector’s youth workers in the first half of the year and encouraged them to continue their efforts in the remaining months of 2024. He emphasized the importance of discussion, idea and experience-sharing, and planning to successfully achieve assigned goals.
During the event, President of Vinaconex Corporation’s Trade Union Nguyen Manh Cuong highlighted the stable operation of Vinaconex after six years of restructuring and operating without state capital. He mentioned the goal of establishing and developing the Youth Union of VINACONEX Corporation as a model for unions in non-state enterprises. He called on Vinaconex youth to uphold values of initiative, solidarity, responsibility, and creativity to successfully fulfill their duties assigned by the Corporation and the Youth Union.
The conference covered five main topics: evaluating the Youth Union's work and the youth movement among the capital's public sector during the first half of 2024, setting directions and tasks for the remainder of the year, announcing grading criteria of the Central Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Hanoi Youth Union and key activities for the Youth Union's departments.
According to Deputy Head of Hanoi Youth Union's Department of Youth, Public Employees, National Security and Defense Affairs, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang, public sector units have closely followed the directions of the Municipal Youth Union, party committees, and authorities; developing tailored programs for each unit, and actively participating in shared activities of the City and the sector; directing the unions at grassroots-levels to organize suitable activities, especially volunteer and career-building activities to contribute to the success of professional political tasks and Youth Union activities.
She encouraged union members and youth in the public sector to be active, proactive, and lead in their assigned tasks, participating in the development of a digital government and society, demonstrating their youthful readiness to take on new challenges and work closely with Party committees and unit leaders to achieve their political, production and business tasks.
Throughout the conference, delegates reviewed the achievements of the Youth Union work and youth movement in the public sector for the first half of the year, discussed directions, tasks as well as proposed solutions to enhance the quality of the Youth Union work and youth movement for the second half of 2024.
