Ring Road No. 3.5 - Thang Long Boulevard Interchange: Strengthening connectivity and accelerating to completion Amid the constant flow of traffic on Thang Long Boulevard, the Ring Road No. 3.5 interchange site stays busy day and night. VINACONEX and the Thang Long Joint Venture are deploying every resource to deliver the project safely, to quality standards, and on schedule.
One of the priority infrastructure projects in Hanoi’s transport master plan to 2030 with a vision to 2050, the grade-separated interchange between Ring Road No. 3.5 and Thang Long Boulevard plays a key role in completing the Ring Road No. 3.5 corridor, improving connectivity in the western part of the city, easing congestion and supporting urban development.
After more than a year of construction, VINACONEX and the Thang Long Joint Venture have mobilised maximum manpower and equipment and opened multiple continuous work fronts to accelerate progress on key items. To date, completed output stands at around 30% of the construction contract value, with Phase 1 items broadly on schedule.
On site, teams are simultaneously building the through-underpass, the ramp bridge system, retaining walls, temporary roads for traffic management, utility infrastructure and the designed road network. Running work sections in parallel makes the best use of available time and protects the overall project schedule.
Alongside schedule pressure, the project faces challenges in site clearance and in dealing with existing utility networks. In response, VINACONEX staff, engineers and workers have stayed close to the site, adjusting construction methods as needed and applying tight control over quality, schedule and occupational safety to ensure every item meets technical requirements.
Despite the challenges, VINACONEX teams work with a high sense of responsibility to bring the project in on schedule, helping complete the road network in western Hanoi, ease congestion and support local economic growth
With close coordination between the investor, consultants and contractors, the project is tracking to plan. Once complete, the interchange will increase capacity along Ring Road No. 3.5 and strengthen connectivity in western Hanoi, further confirming VINACONEX’s capability in delivering large-scale transport infrastructure.
