CONSTRUCTION OF BUON TUA SRAH HYDROPOWER PLANT

Project Scale

Buon Tua Srah Hydropower Project is located on Krong No river of the Srepok river system, which is the level 1 line of the Mekong River and one of the three major rivers in the Central Highlands. The project includes two generators with a capacity of 85MW, average annual power output of 358.6 million KWh, total volume of the reservoir (Wtb) of 786.9 million m3, and total investment capital of about VND 2,273 billion.

The main constructor Vinaconex Corporation directly implemented the items of the downstream run-of-river, headrace tunnels, diversion channel’s downstream, and the downstream dyke.

Construction items include:
Rockfill dam with the impervious-soil core, length of dam L= 1041.1 meters, height of crest H= 83 meters, dam crest width B= 8.0 meters, crest elevation = 492.3 meters. There is a drilling waterproofing membrane deep into the dam base with three drill rows spaced three meters apart.
