VINACONEX REVIEWS PARTY, TRADE UNION, AND YOUTH UNION ACTIVITIES IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2024, SETS AGENDA FOR SECOND HALF

On August 6, 2024, Vinaconex Corporation convened a conference to review the Party's work, activities of Trade Union and Youth Union for the first half of the year and to set key tasks for the remaining six months of 2024.

Participating in the conference were:

• Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dong, Member of the Board of Directors, General Director of the Corporation
• Members of the Corporation's Board of Directors, Board of Management, Board of Strategy Council, Members' Council 

Delegates from the Party, Trade Union, and Youth Union of the Corporation

• Mr. Dao Ngoc Thanh, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Strategy Council.
• Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, President of the Trade Union.
• Mr. Hoang Thieu Bao, Secretary of the Youth Union.

CThe Conference also saw the participation of 105 delegates, who members of the Party Committee, Heads and Deputy Heads of Departments under the Party Committee, Secretaries of grassroots Party cells under the Corporation; Members of Trade Union Executive Committee, Trade Union Officers, and Chairpersons of grassroots Trade Unions, members of the Youth Union Executive Committee and Secretaries of grassroots Youth Unions.

The conference was led by  Mr. Dao Ngoc Thanh, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Strategy Council.

In the first half of 2024, despite facing various challenges, the Party and Union at Vinaconex Corporation have made significant strides. They have not only fulfilled their professional duties actively enhanced the enterprise's production and business efficiency, but have also excelled in organizing activities that support the Board of Directors in building and promoting VINACONEX's culture and brand. These efforts have strengthened the role and position of the Party organization and unions of Vinaconex, positioning them as a model Party organization in the non-state enterprise under the Hanoi Party Committee.

The Corporation's Party Committee has focused on guiding and collaborating closely with the Board of Directors, Members' Council, and Strategy Council to effectively establish and implement production and business goals as outlined in the Resolution of the General Meeting of Shareholders, maintaining internal unity, fostering corporate culture, and elevating the VINACONEX brand.

Under the leadership of the Party Committee, various units within the Corporation have continued to advance key projects initiated in 2023, closely monitored market trends to strategically bid on projects that align with the Corporation's strengths, completed legal procedures to facilitate ongoing business operations and project management, as well as laying the groundwork for new investment opportunities.

 In the first six months of 2024, the Corporation secured new contracts valued at over VND 4,475 billion, achieved total revenue of VND 5,594.067 billion, and reported a profit after tax of VND 645.797 billion.

With a commitment to the spirit of “Innovation - Democracy - Solidarity – Development”, the Corporation’s Trade Union has implemented impactful and meaningful activities for union members and workers. During this period, the Corporation carried out 95 occupational safety and hygiene inspections and organized 110 related training sessions, partnered with local authorities to visit workers at construction sites and projects, distributing gifts, including cash and heat-protection products, totaling over VND 500 million. The Corporation also extended support to union members and employees during major occasions, such as the Lunar New Year, International Women’s Day, providing gifts to 450 union members and workers facing difficulties or health issues, implementing the 2024 “Union Meal” program, program to honor the heroes and martyrs of the Dien Bien Phu campaign, etc.

Guided by policies and directives of the Hanoi Party Committee and Youth Union, the Corporation's Youth Union focused on tasks aligned with the Corporation's specific production and business needs; actively holding Green Sunday program on March 19, which received positive responses from unions, promoting charitable, cultural, and sports activities, Creative Youth movement, and also encouraging initiatives and technical improvements. In collaboration with the Hanoi Youth Union, the Corporation's Youth Union successfully organized a mid-year preliminary conference on union work and youth movement for Hanoi's workers and settiing objectives and tasks for the remainder of 2024.

At the conference, delegates listened to the Organizing Committee representative from the Corporation’s Party Committee, who provided a summary of the three-year progress of Project no. 11, titled “Improving the Quality of Party Cell Activities under the Hanoi Party Committee in new circumstances.”

Under the chairmanship and guidance of the Party Committee Secretary, conference participants engaged in discussions, addressing the remaining challenges and limitations encountered during the implementation process. They also highlighted successful, scientific, and innovative initiatives that have been effectively applied in various units of the Vinaconex system.

To strengthen the spirit of solidarity, unity, and collective strength of the Party and trade union organizations across the Vinaconex system, the Party Committee Secretary delivered the closing speech focusing on the implementation of key objectives for the remaining six months of 2024, including:

1. Party organizations and trade unions shall maintain a focus on leading and directing the organization’s tasks, reinforcing the role and status of the Party organization in non-state enterprises; upholding corporate culture and contributing to the growth of the Vinaconex brand.

2. Collaborating effectively with professional departments to enhance the efficiency of production and business operations; encouraging Party and trade union members to be exemplary role models, taking the lead in fulfilling their assigned duties under the guiding principle: “For the existence and development of the enterprise, and for the welfare of Party and trade union members and Vinaconex employees.”

3. Managing the preparations for organizing Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, in accordance with the plan set by the Hanoi Party Committee. This includes tasks such as drafting plans, preparing documents, establishing working groups to direct the congress, managing personnel, coordinating propaganda work, handling logistics, selecting units to conduct grassroots congresses, etc.

4. Directing and coordinating with the professional departments to organize activities in celebration of the Corporation’s 36th anniversary. Guide mass organizations, with the trade union taking the lead, in organizing and summarizing competitive activities in labor production, sports and cultural events to foster communication, unity, and solidarity among union members and employees across the entire Vinaconex system.

5. Successfully organizing the reviews activities of Party, trade union, and youth union for 2024 in compliance with the Corporation’s regulations.

To align leadership and direction with the Corporation's new production and business model, the Party Committee announced the establishment of four new grassroots Party cells during the conference:

• Party cell of Project Management Unit No. 1
• Party cell of Project Management Unit No.  2
• Party cell of Project Management Unit No.  3
• Party cell of Thang Long Project Management Unit.

As part of the conference, Mr. Pham Thanh Hoc, Deputy Head of Hanoi Commission for Propaganda and Education, delivered two key presentations to ensure the timely and consistent implementation of directives from the Central and Municipal Party Committees:

1. Regulation No. 144-QD/TW dated May 9, 2024 issued by the Politburo on revolutionary ethical standards for officials and Party members in the new period.

2. Directive No. 35-CT/TW dated June 14, 2024, and Plan No. 258-KH/TU dated July 15, 2024, on the organization of Party Congresses at all levels in preparation for the National Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.

After a period of focused and diligent discussion, the conference successfully addressed all items on the agenda, laying a foundation for the ongoing efforts of the Party and mass organizations at VINACONEX as they play a key role in supporting the Corporation's growth and achieving significant results in 2024.
