With the determination to “fighting the epidemic like fighting against the enemy,” Vinaconex Corporation has attempted to carry out several practical and meaningful activities to ensure safe production and business as well as to fulfill the “dual missions” in the light of the “new normal” social distancing, joining hands to repel the Covid-19 pandemic.
Properly taking measures to ensure safety throughout the epidemic period
Having diverse industries (mainly focusing on the fields of construction and installation, real estate, and financial investment) and a wide area of operation spanning the country, Vinaconex always keeps in mind that ensuring safety for employees, workers, and construction projects is a top priority task in parallel to developing production and business.
Following the Government’s direction and the Ministry of Health’s guidance, Vinaconex established a Steering Committee for COVID-19 prevention and control at the beginning of 2020 in response to the complicated developments of the pandemic. The committee has the responsibilities of directing, supervising, and urging the strict implementation of epidemic prevention and control measures throughout the Corporation to its member units, while also proactively preparing response plans to maintain uninterrupted production and business operations.
Vinaconex Corporation recently issued Notice No. 877/2021/TB-VP on continuing anti-epidemic activities, ensuring employee and community health safety, and sustaining production – business stability of the Corporation and its member units. Accordingly, the Corporation requested its functional departments and member units’ leaders to aggressively guide the execution of the following contents: Completely adhere to the Ministry of Health’s guidance on COVID-19 prevention and control; implement synchronous epidemic prevention plans at the workplaces, PMUs, and construction sites.
Besides, the Corporation asked all employees to take epidemic prevention measures at all times and places such as body temperature checking, putting on face masks, disinfection, health declaration, etc to protect their health and community; the policies, and regulations to support the employees to work from home during the quarantine period (if any) were also formulated and carried out. On last May 17, Vinaconex in coordination with the National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals collected samples of employees of the holding and some member units for Covid-19 testing. Over 350 employees were sampled for this test and the SARS-CoV-2 Virus test results were all negative.
Joining hands with the whole country in epidemic prevention
VINACONEX engaged in a variety of meaningful and practical activities to “defeat COVID” together with the community. This is not only the corporate social responsibility but also the care and enthusiasm of more than 10,000 VINACONEX employees towards the community. Specifically, Vinaconex supported three branches of K Hospital with necessary supplies for social distancing, and epidemic prevention works (including folding beds, thin blankets, electric fans, portable sockets, portable toilets, etc.)
Previously, based on the professional advice of the Bach Mai Hospital’s special working group assisting Da Nang in fighting the epidemic, Vinaconex directly purchased and presented the city’s health department with modern equipment that hasn’t been equipped at hospitals before. Besides, 10,000 free portions of meals were also donated by Vinaconex to medical facilities and isolation sites across the city. The total donation value was nearly VND 2.5 billion. On behalf of Vinaconex Corporation, Vinaconex 25 JSC, a Corporation’s member unit also donated VND 200,000,000 in cash to the Municipal Fatherland Front Committee together with the city's health department to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic.
In Hai Phong city, Vinaconex Corporation also offered 2,000 SARS-COV-2 test kits and other necessary medical supplies worth VND 2 billion to the Municipal People's Committee in support of the city's COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control. Over the nearly 32 years of building and development, Vinaconex Company has always prioritized community activities and social responsibility. In response to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Vinaconex Corporation and all employees have been actively participating in supporting epidemic prevention and control as well as directly making donations in cash and in-kind to the health department as well as provinces across the country to join hands with Party and Government in preventing and repelling the pandemic./.
