In response to the 2026 Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and Workers' Month, VINACONEX continues to demonstrate its commitment to building a people-centered, safe working environment, driving sustainable development across all the business and construction activities.
On May 12, 2026, the Ministry of Construction, in collaboration with the National Union for Building Workers, held a ceremony to launch the 2026 Action Month on OSH and Workers' Month under the theme: “Innovating Management and Enhancing OSH effectiveness in the Digital Era.”
The event brought together Mr. Bui Xuan Dung, Deputy Minister of Construction; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Pham Hoai Phuong, Préident of the National Union for Building Workers; along with representatives from various ministries, sectors, and construction industry leaders.
Representing VINACONEX at the event Mr. Nguyen Khac Hai, Deputy General Director, and Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy, President of the Corporation's Trade Union.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Bui Xuan Dung stressed that as multiple national key projects are being executed simultaneously, OSH efforts must “stay one step ahead.” He called for a decisive move from an incident-response mindset to proactive prevention by leveraging digital technology, big data, and artificial intelligence to control on-site hazards in real time. The Ministry has designated 2026 as a pivotal year for transforming OSH management practices, aiming to build safe, modern, and sustainable workplaces.
Mr. Hoang Hai noted that OSH management in construction and transport sectors has recently received comprehensive attention, ranging from improving legal frameworks and strengthening guidance and inspections to intensifying legal awareness campaigns across local municipalities and enterprises.
Union President Pham Hoai Phuong shared that the Trade Union has actively innovated its activities, leveraging its network of safety and health volunteers, promoting workplace dialogue, and driving emulation movements such as “Green - Clean - Beautiful, Ensuring OSH.” These efforts have helped raise awareness and responsibility among the workforce regarding occupational safety.
On this occasion, leaders of the Ministry of Construction and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor presented 100 gift packages to workers in difficult circumstances. Representatives from nine construction industry units signed a commitment to strictly comply with OSH regulations, demonstrating their determination to build safe, civilized, and sustainable working environments.
Witnessed by attending delegates, Mr. Nguyen Khac Hai signed the commitment alongside other industry representatives. This action reflects VINACONEX's concrete determination to strengthen OSH management responsibilities across all its projects and construction sites.
As a company operating in construction and infrastructure, VINACONEX views occupational safety and health not merely as a regulatory requirement but as a responsibility to its workers, the community, and society at large. Throughout all project phases, the Corporation prioritizes building a safe working environment, enhancing training, strengthening site controls, raising risk prevention awareness, and steadily applying technology in management, all driven by the goal of “Safety for Sustainable Development.”
