On August 30, the inauguration ceremony was held by the Hanoi People's Committee in Hanoi for the Vinh Tuy Bridge - Phase 2 project. Vinaconex is honored to have been involved in the construction of package 01/VT2-XL to build the main section, which is the most important item of this project.
The ceremony was attended by Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung, as well as leaders from central ministries, departments and leaders of Hanoi city. Representing Vinaconex Joint Stock Corporation, the contractor involved in the project, were Chairman of the Board of Directors Dao Ngoc Thanh, and the Board of Management.
Construction done ahead of schedule and within the allocated budget
In his speech at the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Chinh said Vinh Tuy Bridge – Phase 2 is one of Hanoi’s key transport works in the city’s plan to promote the development of the road network by 2030, with a vision to 2050. He praised the determination, proactive approach and innovative mindset of the Party, Municipal committees and authorities, as well as the PMU, contractors, employees and workers involved in the construction projects. The Prime Minister particularly commended the construction work for being completed about 4 months ahead of schedule, without capital project overruns, and with potential cost savings upon finalization.
The Deputy Chairman of Municipal People's Committee stated that once Vinh Tuy 2 Bridge is finished and in use, it will help reduce traffic congestion and accidents on the route. Its inauguration also has shown that Hanoi has the capability and experience to undertake similar bridge projects across the Red River in the future.
Representing the contractors, Chairman of the Board of Directors Dao Ngoc Thanh mentioned that the detailed plan, resources mobilized from all sources, and innovative construction methods employed by the VINACONEX - Trung Chinh joint venture during the project implementation to ensure round-the-clock work had resulted in the project being completed 6 months ahead of schedule and 1.5 years faster than phase 1 of the Vinh Tuy Bridge construction, while maintaining high quality and safety standards. This success demonstrates the outstanding expertise of the engineers and workers involved and provides valuable lessons for contractors in future public investment projects.
Honored to be selected as a contractor, the joint venture of Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Corporation (VINACONEX) and Trung Chinh Trading and Construction Company Limited are undertaking the construction of 01/VT2 - XL package of the main bridge, including access roads, pontoon bridge, abutment. Particularly, the main bridge over main stream, which has a cantilever box girder structure, spans 955.06 meters, with a package value of VND1,153,609 billion. VINACONEX contractor and the joint venture always strive to overcome all obstacles, including the Covid-19 epidemic to ensure the construction progresses safely, with high quality, and on schedule.
In the field of transport infrastructure, VINACONEX is the contractor involved in packages of the North-South Expressway Construction Investment Project Phase 1 and 2 that worth tens of trillions of VND. VINACONEX is also working on the construction of Phu Bai International Airport, a unique and aesthetically pleasing civil aviation project in Vietnam, which was inaugurated on June 17th. Additionally, VINACONEX is a member of the Vietur Joint Venture winning package no. 5.10 for Long Thanh International Airport. This project, valued at over VND 35 trillion, would start construction on August 31, 2023.
