That is the commitment of Vinaconex contractor at the inspection conducted on the morning of March 20 by Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Duy Lam and his working delegation.
Accompanying the Deputy Minister were Pham Chien Thang, Executive Director of the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi Expressway Project (managed by Thang Long Project Management Board), representatives from construction units and other related parties.
Representing Vinaconex, the contractor participating in the project construction was Director of Project Management Unit No.1 Pham Thai Duong.
After over a year of urgent construction, the units have excavated 1.0/1.6 million m3 of the main road base, which is 65% complete; K95 soil embankment has reached 1.1/4.6 million m3 (24% complete); The project has finished installing wick drains in all relevant sections, completed 72% of sand drain installations, and reached 75% completion for soil-cement column treatments. Besides, work is progressing at 24 out of 25 bridge locations, 28 out of 48 culverts and underpasses along the route. Bored pile construction for bridges is nearly finished, with simultaneous work on beam casting, component assembly, and substructure.
Vinaconex contractor has recently deployed a maximum number of human resources, equipment, and machinery, in an attempt to speed up the construction progress of the National Highway 8A intersection adjacent to the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway project, which is expected to open to traffic in June 6.
“So far, Vinaconex is confident in completing the intersection's items before June 30; completing the main route by April 2024, and ensuring traffic opening by June 4” - said Mr. Pham Thai Duong, Director of PMU 1.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Lam and the delegation commended the project investors and contractors for their dedication. Despite initial obstacles, the project has begun speeding up, aiming to expedite progress by 3 to 6 months compared to the contract. Contractors are urged to intensify efforts, mobilizing additional human and equipment resources while implementing efficient construction methods to ensure progress across all packages of the project.
The Bai Vot - Ham Nghi project has a total length of 35.28 kilometers, starting at Km479+117.18 in Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province, and ending at Km514+441.33 in Thach Xuan commune, Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh province. With a total investment of VND7,643 billion, the project commenced on January 1, 2023, implemented by a joint venture of Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Corporation (Vinaconex) and 319 Corporation Ministry Of National Defence.
