On May 23, 2026, Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc conducted an inspection of major projects in southern Vietnam, including Long Thanh International Airport, the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, and the operational status of Tan Son Nhat International Airport's T3 Terminal.
At the Long Thanh International Airport project, VINACONEX was represented by Mr. Pham Thai Duong, General Director of the Corporation, along with the project management board and the site engineering teams.
After receiving progress reports, the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the final phase of the project is particularly critical. He called on the investor, Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), to strengthen its overall coordination role, guide contractors and construction units to work in sync, and strive to complete the project as soon as possible.
Across the vast construction site, VINACONEX is accelerating work on multiple key components, including the passenger terminal, runways, aircraft aprons, internal airport roads, and technical infrastructure.
Despite numerous field challenges, VINACONEX and its partners are mobilizing maximum manpower and equipment, maintaining round-the-clock construction, and demonstrating an unwavering commitment to ensure the landmark national project meets its designated timeline.
For its assigned work packages, VINACONEX remains firmly on schedule:
Package No. 5.10 (Passenger Terminal construction and equipment installation) has reached 82% completion. Package No. 4.7 (Aircraft apron construction) is expected to be completed by the end of July 2026, ahead of the contract schedule. Package No. 4.8 (Internal airport roads and technical infrastructure) and Package No.4.12 (Runway and second taxiway construction) are both on track for completion by the end of September 2026, in line with contract requirements.
Maintaining a non-stop construction tempo, VINACONEX continues to ensure both progress and quality at Long Thanh International Airport - an infrastructure project that reflects the nation's growing capabilities and aspirations in this new era of development.
