EMULATION MOVEMENT LAUNCHED AT VINH TUY BRIDGE PHASE 2 CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

VND 328.7 billion of accumulated output,  VND 290 billion of accumulated revenue, equivalent to 100% of the plan are the goals to strive for as stated in the emulation covenant signed by Vinaconex Corporation, Trade Union, Youth Union of the Corporation, Project Steering Committee and units directly in charge of executing package no. XL1 - Vinh Tuy Bridge Phase 2 construction project.

The ceremony of emulation to speed up the construction progress of the Vinh Tuy bridge phase 2 construction project was launched on May 30 in Hanoi. This is one of the activities planned to commemorate the socioeconomic events of the nation and Hanoi capital, responding to Workers’ Month of 2023, and particularly dedicating to honour the 35th anniversary of VINACONEX Corporation’s establishment (September 27, 1988 - September 27, 2023).

The ceremony had the presence of Mr. Vu Ngoc Chinh - Member of the Inspection Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Vice Chairman of Trade Union, Chairman of Vietnam National Union of Building Workers; Mr. Duong Duc Cuong - Member of Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the Department of Propaganda - Women's Public Affairs’ Specialist under Vietnam National Union of Building Workers; Mr. Tran Quang Hung - Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union, Mr. Duong Minh Duc - Head of the Department of Public, civil servants and Defense & Security

On behalf of the Investor was Mr. Le Tuan Tu - Deputy Head of Department of Supervision No. 2 under the Hanoi Transport Construction Investment Project Management Unit;

On VINACONEX Corporation side, there were the attendance of:

• Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Party Committee, President of Corporation’s Trade Union;
• Mr. Tran Dinh Tuan - Deputy General Director of Vinaconex;
• Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy - Human Resources Director, cum Director of Human Resource Development Department, Standing Committee of the Corporation's Emulation and Commendation Council;
• Mr. Pham Thai Duong – Director of Project Management Unit no. 1;
• Mr. Nguyen Hai Lam – Vice Presidents of the Corporation's Trade Union, Deputy Chief of the Corporation’s Party Committee Office.
• Mr. Nguyen Duc Tu - Deputy Secretary of Corporation’s Youth Union.

Along with representatives from the consulting and supervision units, the leaders of Project Management Unit no. 1 and all project’s workers and employees.

At the event, Deputy General Tran Dinh Tuan spoke on behalf of the Corporation's leaders and congratulated the staff of VINACONEX - Trung Chinh joint venture for their hard work and dedication. He acknowledged the team efforts to complete the assigned tasks, completing eight major spans on time so that Vinh Tuy bridge can be put into operation as planned by Hanoi City. Besides, he expressed the heartfelt gratitude to Vietnam National Union of Building Workers, Hanoi Youth Union, and others who have supported Vinaconex contractor during the project implementation.

In his remarks, Mr. Vu Ngoc Chinh, Vice Chairman of Trade Union under Vietnam National Union of Building Workers, believes that if Vinaconex works together with enthusiasm, unity, and creativity, the Corporation would help to build an important transportation project that would boost the capital's socio-economic development. In addition to encouraging labor emulation movements, promoting initiatives to assure progress and quality, Mr. Chinh also suggested that Vinaconex shall take care of the well-being of all union members, employees, and workers throughout the Corporation in general, and at the construction site of the Vinh Tuy bridge phase 2 in particular; at the same time, integrating harmoniously and realistically with activities to welcome Workers' Month 2023 in production and business, all for the goal of developing  harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations.

The representatives of VINACONEX Corporation, its Trade Union and Youth Union, the Project Steering Committee, and others signed the Emulation Covenant in the presence of the participants. The goal is to reach VND 328. 7 billion in output and VND 290 billion in revenue by October 10th, 2023, keeping the construction safe, high quality, on schedule, and efficient, as well as taking care and making sure the project’s workers and employees would have good living and working conditions.

As for the construction progress in the package, VINACONEX contractor has completed the following: bored piles T21HL to T25HL, piers, cantilevers T22HL to T25HL, contract output: VND 315.6 billion, revenue: VND 276.6 billion, disbursement: VND 286.6 billion. In the following months, VINACONEX contractor would proceed with the guard rails, trees, lighting system, asphalt concrete, and road marking in preparation for opening for traffic by October 2, 2023. Simultaneously, implementing traffic reorganization, setting up road dividers, and line marking on Vinh Tuy Bridge phase 1 to sync the entire project by October 10, 2023. 

On the morning of May 30, the VINACONEX - Trung Chinh joint venture completed the NK5 - the final and most important section of Vinh Tuy 2 Bridge. The event drew the participation of leaders of Hanoi city and related units.

The Vietnam National Union of Building Workers and the VINACONEX Corporation’s Trade Union delivered gifts to the union members, employees and workers on the construction site to encourage and motivate them. That was a highly valuable source of encouragement, demonstrating the cares of Trade Unions at all levels about project the staff working on the project in particular and all trade union members of the construction industry in general.
