Marking VINACONEX's 38th founding anniversary, the Son Dong Industrial Cluster officially broke ground on September 17, 2026 in Doai Phuong Commune, Hanoi, opening up a new, modern, centralized industrial manufacturing hub in the capital's western growth corridor.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Quang Han, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Doai Phuong Commune; Mr. Tran Pham Hung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Commune Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen The Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Commune Party Committee and Chairman of the Commune People's Committee; alongside representatives from municipal departments, partners, and a large gathering of local residents.
Representing the project owner were Mr. Le Van Huy, Deputy General Director of VINACONEX Corporation and Chairman of the Members' Council of VINACONEX Investment One Member Co., Ltd., together with corporate leadership, project engineers, and workers directly involved in delivering the project
Spanning 72.5 hectares with total investment of over VND 1,200 billion, Son Dong Industrial Cluster is being developed by VINACONEX Investment One Member Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of VINACONEX Corporation. The site is strategically situated at the junction connecting the Son Tay urban area and the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, with convenient links to central Hanoi and northern economic hubs.
The cluster is master-planned as a multi-sector, technology-driven industrial park prioritizing clean technologies, supporting industries, agricultural processing, and small-scale specialized handicrafts tied to traditional craft villages. This centralized hub facilitates the structured relocation of manufacturing facilities away from residential areas, optimizing land-use efficiency and mitigating environmental footprints.
Once up and running, Son Dong Industrial Cluster is projected to generate around VND 3,000 billion in annual industrial output, contributing VND 150 - 200 billion per year to the local budget. Crucially, the project will generate roughly 5,000 direct jobs and 1,500 indirect jobs. These are tangible benefits that will drive production, create employment, and raise incomes for local residents.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quang Han called on participating entities to accelerate land clearance and urged the project owner to bring its full capabilities and sense of responsibility to the table, maintain close collaboration with municipal authorities, and promptly resolve bottlenecks to maintain the master schedule.
Addressing the event, Mr. Le Van Huy, Deputy General Director of VINACONEX and Chairman of VINACONEX Investment One Member Co., Ltd, thanked government authorities at all levels and local residents for their support and consensus.
He emphasized that a project's value is measured not only by financial returns and production output, but in long-term contributions to environmental preservation, community welfare, and sustainable regional prosperity. VINACONEX Investment commits full organizational resources to execute the project strictly according to zoning regulations and construction timelines, ensuring top-tier engineering standards and environmental safeguards while harmonizing the interests of the government, residents, and enterprises.
Immediately following the ceremony, construction vehicles, equipment, engineers, technical staff, and workers were ready to begin project works. VINACONEX Investment focuses all resources to ensure progress, quality, and environmental compliance throughout execution.
With its experience in construction and infrastructure development, VINACONEX continues to expand its industrial real estate portfolio, developing synchronized, modern manufacturing hubs that drive socio-economic development in the western Hanoi.
