WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT INAUGURATED IN CAT BA – AMATINA PROJECT

On the morning of November 26, 2024, Vinaconex Investment and Tourism Development Joint Stock Company (Vinaconex – ITC) held the inauguration ceremony of the centralized wastewater treatment plant at the Cat Ba – Amatina project in Tran Chau Commune, Cat Ba Island, Cat Hai District, Hai Phong City. The plant, with a capacity of 10,000 m3 per day and night, employs advanced European technology.

The ceremony was attended by Ms. Hoang Hong Luan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People's Council of Cat Hai District, and Mr. Hoang Trung Cuong, Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Cat Hai District.

Representing the investor, attendees included Mr. Le Van Huy, General Director of Vinaconex – ITC; Mr. Nguyen Minh Thang, Director of the Investment Board of Vinaconex Joint Stock Corporation; and Mr. Lai Duc Toan, Deputy Director of the Construction Board of Vinaconex Joint Stock Corporation. Leaders from construction and consulting units also participated in the event.

Overview of the ceremony

Speaking at the event, Mr. Le Van Huy, General Director of Vinaconex – ITC, underscored the company’s commitment to sustainable development for the Cat Ba – Amatina project, built on the pillars of Green – Smart – Class. He highlighted the adoption of Organica recirculation treatment technology, a cutting-edge solution that meets rigorous European wastewater quality standards and has been successfully implemented globally.

Mr. Attila G. Bodnar, President of Organica Water - the Hungary-based multinational technology firm, stated that the Food Chain Reactor (FCR) technology employed at the plant ensures not only exceptional wastewater treatment efficiency but also toeco-friendly operations with optimized costs. This technology not only enhances the sustainable development of Cat Ba Amatina but also contributes to preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of local area.

The inauguration of the Wastewater Treatment Plant of the Cat Ba Amatina project marks a significant step forward in Vinaconex – ITC's commitment to harmonizing project development with nature conservation and pollution reduce on Cat Ba Island and the broader coastal region.

Centralized wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 10,000 m3/day and night using the most modern Organica technology in Europe

The Cat Ba Amatina Urban Tourism Area, spanning 176 hectares on Cat Ba Island, is poised to become one of Vietnam's premier modern and upscale resort destinations.

A key component of its development strategy is the integration of advanced wastewater treatment to ensure sustainable growth in harmony with environmental preservation. Therefore, Vinaconex - ITC selected the Organica Green Recirculation Treatment Technology, developed by Organica Water Group based in Hungary. This modern system adheres to stringent European wastewater standards and has been successfully implemented at prominent facilities worldwide, including the 80,000 m³/day Southpest Plant in Hungary, the 13,000 m³/day Umag Plant in Croatia, and the 3,500 m³/day Dubai Investment Park in the UAE, etc. 

The technology received approval from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and was implemented with the support of leading consulting firms and experts, including Organica Water Technology, the joint venture of CTCenvi Environment JSC, the Consulting and Technology Transfer Office for Construction - Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, and Viet Nam Consulting Investment Construction and Trading Development JSC; with Vinaconex Corporation’s extensive construction expertise, the 10,000 m³/day centralized wastewater treatment plant has been successfully completed on the southern site of the Cat Ba Amatina project. Employing advanced GREEN technology, the plant meets stringent safety, quality, and progress standards, marking a significant milestone in the project’s sustainable development.
