On July 11, 2024, VINACONEX Corporation’s Trade Union held a ceremony at the corporation's headquarters to announce the establishment of grassroots trade unions for Project Management Unit No. 1 (PMU1) and Thang Long Project Management Unit (Thang Long PMU). This initiative follows the peak month policy for union membership development in 2024 of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor’s Presidium and Vietnam National Union of Building Workers, in line with directives from the corporation's Party Committee and Board of Directors to unify tasks related to the Party, unions, and production activities at subsidiary units.
The ceremony had the attendance of Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Corporation’s Party Committee and President of the Trade Union; Mr. Nguyen Khac Hai, Standing Member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Director of the Corporation; Standing Committee members and departments of the Corporation's Trade Union; leaders of PMU No. 1 and Thang Long PMU; newly appointed Executive Committee members; and nearly 600 union members and representatives from both PMUs' trade unions.

During the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy, Vice President of the Corporation’s Trade Union and Head of the Organization Department of Trade Union, announced the decision to establish the Trade Unions for PMU No. 1 and the Thang Long PMU. President of the Corporation's Trade Union Nguyen Manh Cuong, and Mr. Nguyen Hai Lam, Vice President, presented the official decisions and flowers to congratulate the Executive Committees of the two units.

Mr. Bui Manh Tuong, President of PMU No. 1’s Trade Union, expressed his gratitude to the Corporation's Board of Directors and the Trade Union for their support and guidance. He pledged to protect the legal rights and interests of union members and employees of the unit while fulfilling obligations to the upper-level Trade Union.

In his speech, the President of the Corporation’s Trade Union Nguyen Manh Cuong reaffirmed the commitment of the Vinaconex Trade Union to seriously and actively implement the policies of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Vietnam National Union of Building Workers. He emphasized the establishment of the two grassroots trade unions exemplifies Vinaconex's proactive approach to the Peak Month of developing union membership and establishing grassroots trade unions by the General Confederation of Labor and the 2024 Union Member Development Plan of Vietnam National Union of Building Workers. That also contributes to commemorating the 95th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2024).

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Khac Hai, Standing Member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Director of the Corporation, on behalf of the BOD, highly appreciated the Trade Union's past activities. He asked newly established and existing grassroots trade unions to continue striving to fulfill their duties, support the Corporation in meeting its production and business objectives, and prioritize the well-being of union members and employees. Besides, he affirmed the Corporation's commitment to supporting and facilitating the Trade Union’s future activities, aiming to strengthen its role as a reliable representative organization for members and employees and as a bridge between them and the authorities to ensure the Corporation's sustainable development.

In June 2024, Vinaconex Corporation's Party Committee made decisions to establish four grassroots Party cells, including those for PMU No. 1, PMU No. 2, PMU No. 3, and the Thang Long PMU in order to foster unified leadership, direction, management of production and business activities, party and union activities within the Corporation and align with the organizational structure of each subsidiary unit.
