The 51.3 km section of the Dau Giay-Phan Thiet Expressway project that passes through the Dong Nai province was formally kicked off at the end of 2020. In order to guarantee technical traffic clearance by the end of December, contractors have been attempting to work overtime and increasing construction shifts to complete other items.

As for package 4 with a length of 16km implemented by Thang Long Corporation and CIENCO 6 joint venture, its shape has been gradually and continually formed up to this point, and the construction product has reached over 70% of the package value. Taking advantage of favorable weather, the unit has constructed the main items such as: filling the ground with more than 80% completion, hot asphalt concrete pavements of mixed layers with 10 out of 16 km entire route complete and over 90% completion of bridge construction work. Moreover, the contractors have gathered construction materials for casting concrete components, in which, more than 5km of median strips and highway fence posts have been completed. At the same time, they also focused on completing the foundation and road surface works as quickly as possible to meet the progress.
Minister of Transport – Mr. Nguyen Van Thang recently underlined at the actual survey on the progress of the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway project that this project shall be technically open to traffic by the end of 2022 and shall be put into operation on April 30, 2023. The Minister also requested that any contractors including supervision consultants, who do not fulfill the requirements of progress and quality at this time shall be replaced and not allowed to work on any future projects deployed by the Ministry, including those involving private investment units. consultation on monitoring.
