After more than 5 months of closure for runway and taxiway repairs and upgrades, Lien Khuong International Airport has officially reopened. As one of the contractors on the project, VINACONEX delivered its scope ahead of schedule, helping the airport reopen on plan.
On 19 August 2026, Lien Khuong International Airport hosted the inauguration of the runway and taxiway repair project and welcomed its first flight since operations were suspended.
The ceremony was attended by leaders of Lam Dong province, representatives of state management agencies, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), consultants, contractors and other stakeholders. VINACONEX was represented by Mr. Pham Thai Duong, General Director; Mr. Khuong The Duy, Deputy Director of Project Management Unit No. 1; and the staff, engineers and workers who delivered the project.
Mr. Ho Van Muoi acknowledged the efforts of the investor, management units, consultants and contractors throughout the project. He emphasised that reopening Lien Khuong International Airport is significant for transport connectivity, tourism and the province’s socio-economic development, and asked all parties to continue working closely together to ensure safe and effective operation.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung said the reopening marks not only the completion of an aviation infrastructure project but also the restoration of a vital gateway for Lam Dong and the Central Highlands. With upgraded infrastructure, the airport is better positioned to increase capacity and expand its route network, providing a platform for ACV to continue investing in line with the master plan and to support local tourism and economic growth.
Throughout construction, the VINACONEX team maintained a constant presence on site and worked closely with all parties involved, completing its assigned scope ahead of schedule and helping the airport return to service as planned.

On this occasion, the VINACONEX Trade Union presented gifts and congratulations to the project management team and the staff, engineers and workers who delivered the works.
