PROJECT MANAGEMENT UNIT NO. 1: THREE-YEAR-REVIEW CONFERENCE ON PRODUCTION - BUSINESS ACTIVITIES

With a strategic focus on promoting engagement in key works and projects, while enhancing Vinaconex's reputation and brand in the construction market, on November 5, 2020, Project Management Unit No. 1 was established and has actively advanced the construction and modernization of the country's infrastructure and transportation infrastructure.

On November 6, 2023, a conference was held at the Corporation’s headquarters by PMU 1 to review the production and business activities in the past three years. In attendance were Mr. Dao Ngoc Thanh, the Corporation's Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dong, the Corporation's General Director, all of whom extended their congratulations.
The conference was also attended by Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Corporation's Trade Union, along with members of the Standing Party Committee, the Board of Directors, the Board of Supervisors, the Board of Management, leaders of functional departments in the Corporation, and leaders of Corporation’s member units in the Northern region.
Representing Project Management Board 1, there were the Deputy General Director Nguyen Huu Toi; Director Pham Thai Duong; the Board of Managers, Directors of the Management Board, Site managers of projects, and the entire employees.

At the conference, Mr. Pham Thai Duong, the Director of PMU 1, presented a report summarizing the production and business activities of the unit. Despite encountering challenges such as the Covid-19 pandemic, fluctuations in raw material prices, and intense market competition in the past 3 years, thanks to the full support of the leaders and outstanding efforts itself, PMU 1 successfully executed 30 projects including 15 civil, hydropower, and airport packages, as well as 15 transportation infrastructure packages nationwide, with a total value of VND 20,805 billion. The management and execution of the construction packages always comply with commitments to the Investor. The unit consistently achieved growth in both output and revenue targets set for each year.

PMU 1 has so far achieved successful completion and timely handover of substantial packages within the Eastern North-South Expressway construction project (phase 1), Vinh Tuy Bridge (phase 2), and various civil works with required quality. Remarkably, several projects were even completed ahead of schedule, garnering the trust and high appreciation of the Investor and significantly contributing to enhancing the reputation and brand of Vinaconex contractor.

In his speech, General Director Nguyen Xuan Dong not only applauded the achievements of PMU 1 but also asked the unit to keep fostering solidarity, creativity, and capacity in all aspects in order to enhance competitiveness, ensuring that the Corporation maintains its leading position in the construction industry in Vietnam.

Deputy General Director Nguyen Huu Toi expressed his gratitude to the Corporation's Board of Directors, Members' Council, and functional departments for their support in completing the tasks of Project Management Board 1.

Following directives from leaders at all levels, Mr. Pham Thai Duong, the Director of PMU 1, assured that all employees would try their best to fulfill their responsibilities successfully, enhancing the development of human and material resources essential for undertaking construction projects in various fields. In the near future, under the guidance of Deputy General Director Nguyen Huu Toi, PMU 1 would keep developing a “united – responsible – professional” collective, thereby making significant contributions to the Corporation's growth.

Every project that the staff of PMU 1 completed shows their intelligence and creativity. It not only gives them a good base to keep contributing but also motivates the younger generation to join in and help the Corporation achieve new successes in the journey to conquer the dream.
