THE 8TH VINACONEX HEAD OFFICE TRADE UNION CONGRESS (2025-2030) SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED

In accordance with the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union and under the guidance of the National Union of Building Workers, on November 11, 2025, the Trade Union of VINACONEX Head Office formally convened its 8th Trade Union Congress for the 2025-2030 term at the Corporation’s headquarters.
The Congress was honored to welcome Mr. Nguyen Huu Toi, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dong, General Director of VINACONEX, together with members of the Standing Party Committee, the Board of Directors, the Board of Management, and representatives of functional departments of the Corporation.
Representing the VINACONEX Trade Union were Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Member of the Executive Committee of the National Union of Building Workers and President of the VINACONEX Trade Union, along with members of the Standing Committee and representatives of affiliated units.
The Congress was attended by 98 official delegates, representing more than 300 union members and employees from the VINACONEX Head Office.

In his opening remarks and report to the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Hai Lam, President of the VINACONEX Head Office Trade Union for the 7th term, emphasized that this Congress represents an important preparatory step, taken proactively to align with the Central Government’s and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour’s policies on restructuring mass organizations. He noted that the 2023-2025 term was a particularly significant period, during which the Trade Union achieved many notable and commendable results. Upholding the principles of discipline, unity, innovation, and democracy, the Trade Union made meaningful contributions to the Corporation’s development journey.

Under the leadership of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, and the Board of Management, the VINACONEX Head Office Trade Union has continued to play a central role in connecting professional activities with employee engagement, contributing to the Corporation’s sustainable growth. During the 2023-2025 term, the Trade Union proactively coordinated with management to negotiate and sign a Collective Labour Agreement offering enhanced benefits, providing comprehensive care for employees’ material and spiritual well-being, from meal allowances to targeted support for members facing difficulties.
Labour emulation movements such as “Excellent and Creative Workers”, along with sports and cultural activities, were widely implemented, helping to spread the VINACONEX corporate culture. Programs supporting female employees, caring for union members’ children, and community initiatives, including contributions to maritime sovereignty funds and disaster relief, further reflected the Trade Union’s social responsibility and human-centered values.

The Congress then held discussions and formally adopted the objectives and orientations for the 2025-2030 term.

Delivering guidance at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Huu Toi, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of VINACONEX, acknowledged and commended the Head Office Trade Union as a core force that has consistently upheld unity and patriotic emulation, making significant contributions to the Corporation’s sustainable development and the strengthening of corporate culture. Entering a new era, he called on the Trade Union to further enhance capacity, responsibility, and professionalism; accelerate the science, technology application, digital transformation; work closely with professional units across all areas of operation.

Also addressing the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Member of the Executive Committee of the National Union of Building Workers and President of the VINACONEX Trade Union, praised the thorough preparation of the Congress and the achievements of the Head Office Trade Union during the past term. He affirmed that it is an active and cohesive unit that has made a strong impression within the VINACONEX trade union system. He emphasized that the support and engagement of the Party Committee, Board of Directors, and corporate leadership provide a vital foundation for the Trade Union to effectively represent employees, care for their well-being, and safeguard their legitimate rights and interests.

Ms. Do Phuong Thao, Member of the Corporation’s Youth Union Executive Committee, delivered a paper on the proactive and responsible role of young union members in leading trade union movements in the Head Office.

Mr. Le Tuan Luong, representing the Construction Department Trade Union Unit, presented a paper on employee welfare and occupational safety at VINACONEX construction sites and projects.
With a strong sense of responsibility, delegates voted to elect the Executive Committee of the VINACONEX Head Office Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term, comprising nine members. Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy was elected President of the Head Office Trade Union; Mr. Nguyen Hai Lam was elected Vice President; and Mr. Hoang Thieu Bao was appointed Head of the Trade Union Inspection Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

Following the election, the newly elected Executive Committee convened its first meeting to elect the Standing Committee and the Inspection Committee. The meeting resolved to elect Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy as President of the VINACONEX Head Office Trade Union; Mr. Nguyen Hai Lam as Vice President; and Mr. Hoang Thieu Bao as Head of the Trade Union Inspection Committee for the 8th term (2025-2030).

At the Congress, flowers were also presented in appreciation to members of the 7th-term Executive Committee (2023-2025) in recognition of their valuable contributions.
The Congress proceeded to elect the delegation representing the Head Office Trade Union to attend the 7th VINACONEX Trade Union Congress, comprising 27 official delegates and three alternate delegates.

In addition, delegates contributed feedback on the draft documents of the 7th VINACONEX Trade Union Congress and provided recommendations on proposed amendments to the Vietnam Trade Union Charter.

On behalf of the newly elected Executive Committee, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy, President of the Head Office Trade Union for the 8th term, expressed his sincere appreciation. He affirmed the Committee’s commitment to upholding the principles of discipline, unity, innovation, and democracy, while actively contributing to the overall development of the Corporation.

Guided by the spirit of “Unity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development,” the 8th Congress of the VINACONEX Head Office Trade Union (2025-2030) concluded successfully. The Congress marked a new stage of growth for the Trade Union, reaffirming its role as a central pillar within the VINACONEX Trade Union system, closely accompanying professional units, caring for employees’ well-being, and contributing to the sustainable development of the VINACONEX family.
