The overall progress of the parallel road component projects under the Ring Road No. 4 – Capital Region investment and construction project is largely on schedule. The investor units and contractors are striving to complete the parallel roads by October 2025, in time for the Hanoi Party Congress.
The Ring Road No. 4 – Capital Region project spans approximately 113.52 km, including 103.82 km of main routes and 9.7 km of connecting sections along the Noi Bai – Ha Long expressway. The project runs through three provinces: Hanoi (57.52 km), Hung Yen (19.3 km), and Bac Ninh (36.7 km).With a total investment of over VND 85.8 trillion, the project is divided into seven sub-projects. The construction of the parallel roads officially began on June 25, 2023, with the goal of completion by October 2025.For the section of the Ring Road No. 4’s parallel road passing through Dan Phuong and Hoai Duc districts (spanning 21 km) implemented by Vinaconex contractor, dozens of machines along with a dedicated team of engineers and workers are deployed to operate continuously in “3 shifts, 4 crews”.According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hai, Director of the Project Management Unit for Package No.9, as of now, the package executed by Vinaconex has completed around 60% of the contract value.The contractor has finished the concrete surface for approximately 19 km of single-lane road, with the remaining sections receiving crushed stone layers. Several overpass components are also being urgently completed.At this key Ring Road No. 4 project, Vinaconex contractor has made full use of favorable weather conditions, increasing manpower for overtime work in 3 shifts, 4 crews. Despite the challenges, the entire team of engineers and workers remains unified and determined to complete the project on schedule.Công nhân đang triển khai hạng mục rải cấp phối đá dăm.The atmosphere at the Ring Road 4 – Capital Region construction site remains intense and lively, with workers pushing forward, “If the day isn't enough, we work through the night.”As of now, the sand fill for the roadbed has reached approximately 96% completion; earth fill for the roadbed is about 76% complete; and gravel layering has reached around 51%. The asphalt concrete layer stands at 46%. With this pace, Vinaconex and other contractors aim to complete the parallel roads of the project by the end of 2025. Once completed, the Ring Road No.4 – Capital Region project will significantly enhance connectivity and serve as a new driving force for Hanoi’s development. Additionally, it will promote economic and social growth across the provinces and cities in the Red River Delta and the key economic region of northern Vietnam.The Ring Road No.4 project will also strengthen regional integration, restructure urban areas in the region, and optimize the use of satellite cities, helping to ease population density in the inner city. It will separate inter-provincial traffic from inner-city traffic, reducing congestion, while fostering urban development, creating economic corridors, and attracting investment to support the growth of neighboring areas.
