According to a Hanoi Transport Construction Investment Project Management Unit (PMU) representative on the construction site, the contractors have completed all 562 drilled piers and 60/61 pier's footings and bodies thus far, with only one remaining pier's footing and body T17HLA scheduled to be completed in September 2022.
The bridge approach has its entire superstructure completed, 396 super T girders were cast and installed, 44 super T spans were also concreted, etc.
The joint venture of Vietnam Construction and Import - Export Joint Stock Corporation - Trung Chinh Trading and Construction Company Limited (VINACONEX - Trung Chinh Joint Venture) was selected as the contractor to implement Package 01/VT2 - XL, which is the most complicated and technically demanding bidding package of the project.
Understanding the significance of the Vinh Tuy Bridge 2 for the Capital's socio-economic development, contractors always have construction plans in place to stick to the schedule, overcome the obstacles due to complicated geological conditions in order to conquer the flood successfully.
Two floods during the construction process forced the contractors to suspend the work. In order to make up for the interruption due to rain and flood, the contractor mobilized extra personnel, equipment, and machinery to have 3 shifts per day. The contractor has also kept track of the rain and floods and actively prepared plans to cope with them, ensuring the progress committed to the investor.
The municipal leader highly appreciated the efforts of the investor, consultancy units, contractors, and local authorities and requested the related units overcome the obstacles, accelerate the progress, complete the main spans by June 30, 2023, complete the remaining items, including guardrails, expansion joints, sodding, lighting, asphalt pavement, line marking, traffic organization in September 2023 and open to public traffic by October 10, 2023
Vinh Tuy Bridge Phase 2 is one of the urgent key projects of Hanoi City. The project will complete Belt Road No. 2 of the capital city, helping enhance the connection between Hanoi and localities in the city’s north and northeast sides. That would relieve the traffic jams on the capital's key traffic routes, particularly on Thanh Tri Bridge and Ring Road No.3.
The second Vinh Tuy Bridge is located next to the first one (2 metres away). Once completed, two bridges would have a total of 8 lanes, each bridge has 4 lanes, including 2 lanes for motor vehicles, 1 lane for buses, 1 lane for general use, and a pedestrian strip. While Vinh Tuy Bridge Phase 1 would have its flow heading to Hanoi city, Vinh Tuy Bridge Phase 2 would have its one-way lanes in the direction from the centre of Hanoi city to Long Bien. At the construction investment project of Vinh Tuy Bridge (phase 2), Vinaconex was honored to be selected as a constructor (Vinaconex - Bridge Construction JSC No. 75 Joint Venture) in Package 05/VT2 - XL for construction of bridge approaches on Long Bien side with implementation term of 18 months; Package 01/VT2 – XL (VINACONEX - Trung Chinh Joint Venture) for construction of main bridge, including access roads, pontoon bridge, abutment. |
