On March 5, 2026, Vietnam Water and Environment Investment Corporation (VIWASEEN) held its Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders in Hanoi. With strong backing from shareholders, the meeting approved key resolutions on organizational structure and the company's strategic direction for the years ahead.
Following the State Capital Investment Corporation's (SCIC) complete divestment, VIWASEEN now operates as a fully privatized company with no state capital. The General Meeting moved to restructure the organization, paving the way for the company to sharpen its governance model with greater transparency, efficiency, and responsiveness to new development requirement.
Overview of the VIWASEEN Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders
With unanimous support from attending shareholders, the General Meeting approved the dismissal of the Board members and Supervisory Board for the 2024-2029 term and elected a new Board and Supervisory Board for the 2026-2031 term.
The newly elected leadership includes:
Board of Directors (2026-2031 term): Mr. To Dung, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dong, Mr. Nguyen Hai Dang, Mr. Phan Quang Khai, Mr. Hoang Thieu Bao. At its first session, the Board unanimously elected Mr. To Dung as Chairman.
Supervisory Board (2026-2031 term): Mr. Vu Van Manh (elected Head of the Supervisory Board), Mr. Bui Anh Duy, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Oanh.
Speaking at the meeting, newly elected Chairman To Dung thanked shareholders for their trust and confidence. He pledged to work closely with the leadership team and employees to drive exceptional performance in this new chapter. Noting the company's mission in the water and environment sector, he emphasized its deep responsibility to social welfare, improving environmental quality, and enhancing people's lives, all in support of Vietnam’s sustainable development goals.
Looking ahead, Chairman Dung outlined two core strategic priorities. First, building on its traditional strengths, VIWASEEN will revamp its governance and operations, adopting cutting-edge technologies to boost efficiency and performance. Second, embracing a forward-looking approach, the company will accelerate digital transformation through AI and advanced technologies, streamlining processes, sharpening forecasting capabilities, increasing transparency, and creating new value for society.
He also stressed the urgency of transforming mindsets and operations, facilitate new projects from the earliest stages of this term, embracing the challenges that come with change, and steadily restoring VIWASEEN's leadership position in Vietnam's water and environment infrastructure sector.
