VINACONEX SUPPORTS UNION MEMBERS AND WORKERS AFFECTED BY STORM NO. 3

In response to the severe impact of Storm No. 3, the VINACONEX Trade Union has not only upheld its social responsibilities but also given gifts to support and boost the morale of union members and employees affected by the disaster.

On October 8, 2024, Vinaconex Corporation's Trade Union organized the “Giving gifts to support union members and employees affected by storm No. 3 in 2024” program. The event was attended by:
- Nguyen Manh Cuong; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Corporation's Party Committee, President of the Trade Union;
- Nguyen Hai Lam, Vice President of the Corporation's Trade Union;
- Nguyen Quoc Huy, Vice President of the Corporation's Trade Union
- Members in the Standing Committee, Departments of the Corporation's Trade Union, and chairpersons of grassroots unions.

And comrades representing 92 union members and employees from the Corporation, directly impacted by the storm, were present to receive assistance.

The program had the attendance of leaders from the Corporation's Trade Union, chairpersons of grassroots unions, and the affected employees and union members.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Corporation's Party Committee, President of the Trade Union Nguyen Manh Cuong delivered a speech to encourage the affected Vinaconex employees. He believed that, with the combined efforts of the Corporation's leadership and grassroots unions, employees would overcome the hardships, regain stability in their lives, and continue to meet their assigned responsibilities. He also stated that in the following time, VINACONEX would maintain its support activities to assist both the community and employees throughout the corporation.

The Trade Union donated VND 160 million to support union members and workers impacted by the storm and floods.

Speaking on behalf of the affected employees, Mr. Phan Chinh, an official from the Corporation's office, expressed deep gratitude for the leadership’s concern and the Trade Union’s timely assistance. He noted that this critical support would help storm-affected employees recover, rebuild their lives, and continue contributing to the development of VINACONEX.

The employee representative was touched by the concerns and support of both the Board of Directors and the Corporation's Trade Union.
In response to the call from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee, VINACONEX’s Party Committee, Executive Board, and Trade Union issued Joint Document No. 2977/2024/LT-TCT dated September 11, 2024 on calling for support for provinces, organizations, and individuals—particularly families of VINACONEX employees—affected by Storm No. 3. In addition to voluntarily donating one day's salary, VINACONEX employees also contributed cash and essential goods to aid those impacted by the storms and floods in northern provinces.
Upholding the a tradition of mutual support within the corporation, a total of VND 690.6 million has been raised by 25 affiliated units for the Corporation's Trade Union. These funds would be distributed as follows: VND 200 million to the Hanoi City Relief Fund of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City; VND 200 million to the “For the Poor” Fund of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City, VND 100 million to VietNam National Union Of Building Workers; and VND 160 million to 92 VINACONEX union members, employees affected by the storm.
Previously, VINACONEX Corporation contributed VND 1 billion through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to assist communities hit by Storm No. 3. A delegation from, An Quy Hung Company Limited, and the Ly Thai To Education System (an inter-level education system managed and operated by VINACONEX), representing VINACONEX, paid a visit to Chuong My District and distributed 13 tons of rice, 1,300 packages of essential goods valued at VND 430 million, and an additional 100 gifts worth VND 50 million.
VINACONEX continues mobilizing donations across the system while organizing delegations to visit storm-affected provinces and localities, providing financial aid and essential supplies to help communities quickly recover and rebuild, contributing to the development of these areas and the country.
