Ensuring quality and progress in executing construction; exceeding 105% of production and revenue are the goals in the emulation agreement of VINACONEX contractor at the Vung Ang 2 Thermal Power Station construction project.
An emulation launching ceremony was held on March 24 at the Vung Ang 2 Thermal Power Plant in Ky Loi Commune of Ky Anh Town, Ha Tinh Province, to hasten the project's development. This is one of a series of celebrations marking the national sociopolitical events in response to Workers' Month, towards the 35th anniversary of VINACONEX Corporation’s establishment

At the ceremony, on behalf of Vinaconex, Chairman of the BOD – Mr. Dao Ngoc Thanh gave a congratulatory speech and commend the employees and workers on the construction site for their efforts to overcome all obstacles and ensure the safety and high quality of the project's construction. He also expressed his gratitude to the Vietnam National Union of Building Workers, Doosan Company, and other related parties for always supporting Vinaconex throughout the project's implementation.
Deputy Chairman of VNUBW – Mr. Pham Xuan Hai was certain that Vinaconex would successfully execute the project's construction work with enthusiasm, solidarity and creativity. He also advised Vinaconex to pay attention to and take care of the material and spiritual well-being of union members, employees, and workers across the Corporation in general and at the construction project in particular; organizing practical and suitable activities to react to respond to Workers' Month 2023 in the production and business process with the aim of establishing harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.
On behalf of the project’s constructors, Mr. Lai Duc Toan, Standing Deputy General Director of Vinaconex CM Company expressed his gratitude to VNUBW, the Vinaconex Corporation, the Doosan General Contractor and related parties for their support; He also committed to successfully implementing the emulation agreement, finishing the project on schedule, ensuring the requirements of quality and safety
According to Mr. Le Ngoc Hung, Project Manager of Vung Ang 2 Thermal Power Plant, the contractors have completed 40% of the production for package B of the project's construction. The PMU and workers will finish significant structural and subsurface items during the implementation term of the emulation agreement from March 24 to September 27, 2023 (before the rainy season), ensuring quality, and safety, and advancing the progress of the project. Production and revenue aim to exceed 105% of the plan.
The VNUBW handed out 24 gifts worth a total of VND one million each, while the Corporation's Trade Union presented VND 20 million worth of gifts to the project's employees and workers. This is a really meaningful encouragement, demonstrating the concern that the all level Trade Unions have for the project staff in particular and the trade union members of the construction in general.
Vung Ang 2 Thermal Power is a build–operate–transfer (BOT) project with a total investment of $2.2 billion and Vung Ang 2 Thermal Power Company Limited (VAPCO) as the employer. The project has a total capacity of 1,330 MW, consisting of 2 machine units. It’s located in Hai Phong village, Ky Loi commune, Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh province, next to the existing Vung Ang I thermal power plant. According to the plan, the project, including the main plant, coal unloading jetty, ash and slag disposal areas, and related ancillary works, would be completed and put into commercial operation in the third quarter of 2025. Vinaconex is honored to win the trust of the General Contractor – Doosan Company (Korea), as being selected to be the constructor for package B's items (including operators and technical infrastructure) with a value of more than VND 453 billion excluding VAT. The project's implementation would take more than 25 months, from April 2022 to April 2024. |
