CLOSING CEREMONY FOR THE DAK BA HYDROPOWER PLANT

After 24 months of relentless work, even during a prolonged period of social distancing due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Dak Ba Hydropower Plant Project was completed with “lightning speed”. On September 9, 2023, Bach Thien Loc Joint Stock Company held a closing ceremony for the project. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Dao Ngoc Thanh - Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dong, General Director of Vinaconex Corporation.

Among the distinguished guests was Mr. Nguyen Ba Minh, the Director of Vietcombank - Chuong Duong Branch, responsible for managing the project's credit arrangements. The ceremony also saw the participation of the supervision consulting units and contractors involved in the project implementation.

Chairman of the BOD, Mr. Dao Ngoc Thanh, extended his congratulations on the successful completion of the Dakba HP, which is managed and operated by Bach Thien Loc JSC (a unit with 100% of the capital of Vinaconex Corporation). This project has an installed capacity of 30 MW, consistently generates an annual power of 100.43 million kWh, and stands as the third-largest hydropower project in Quang Ngai province. The project is responsible for ensuring the absolute safety of the Dakba HP, proactively mitigating the risks of rain and floods, and generating safe and efficient electricity. Moreover, it is crucial to reduce downstream floods and provide supplemental water during the dry season when necessary.

During the event, the General Director of the Corporation, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dong, praised the units for their dedication and prompt implementation of the project with optimal investment costs and operational efficiency right from the plant's initial operation. That embodies Vinaconex's values in this new era: Aggressiveness – Speed - Efficiency.
On behalf of the project investor, Mr. Nguyen Hai Dang, the Director of Bach Thien Loc JSC expressed gratitude for the Corporation's attentive attention and guidance, as well as the exceptional efforts of the units involved in the project. After almost 8 months of operation, the project has supplied the National Power System with over 70 million kWh of power, resulting in revenue and a cash flow exceeding VND 100 billion.

This achievement underscores the remarkable professionalism of the Investor and units, particularly Vinaconex Corporation, the project’s main construction contractor. The Dak Ba HP was finished on schedule, ensuring safety, quality, aesthetics, and operational efficiency. That serves as a meaningful celebration of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of Vinaconex Joint Stock Corporation (September 27, 1988, to September 27, 2023).
