THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY 45 – NGHI SON AND NGHI SON – DIEN CHAU EXPRESSWAY SECTIONS INAUGURATED

On October 18, two sections of the Eastern North-South Expressway construction project phase I, National Highway 45 - Nghi Son and Nghi Son - Dien Chau, were officially inaugurated and put into operation. Vinaconex, as the contractor for both projects, was honored to have contributed to their successful completion.
The Ministry of Transport (MOT) collaborated with the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province and the People's Committee of Nghe An province on October 18 to organize the ceremony to inaugurate the National Highway 45 – Nghi Son and Nghi Son – Dien Chau expressways. The event took place at the northern entrance of Truong Vinh tunnel, which is a segment of the Nghi Son - Dien Chau expressway project in Thanh Hoa province. 
The ceremony had the attendance of the following: Mr. Tran Hong Ha, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Nguyen Sy Hiep, Deputy Chairman of the Government Office; Mr. Le Dinh Tho, Deputy Minister of Transport; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Canh, Vice Chairman of the Commission for Management of State Capital at Enterprises; Leaders of Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces in the project area; relevant units and organizations involved in the project implementation.
On behalf of Vinaconex Corporation, the contractor chosen to participate in the construction of two component projects, Mr. Pham Thai Duong, Director of Project Management Unit no.1 was present at the event.

In his speech, Deputy PM Tran Hong Ha  emphasized the significance of traffic as the lifeblood of the economy, the strategic breakthroughs in economic and social development that ensures the safety of the national defense and security of the Party and State.
The official inauguration of two projects, namely NH 45 - Nghi Son and Nghi Son - Dien Chau sections, with a total length of 94 km, is a remarkable milestone. It marks the complete connection of Huu Nghiep border gate (Lang Son province) to Dien Chau (Nghe An province) through the expressway and also increases the total operational length of the North-South expressway to 1,048 km. This is crucial for facilitating transportation between the Northern and North Central provinces, as well as promoting the growth of urban areas, industrial zones, tourism, and service centers in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces in particular, and the entire North Central region in general.

Deputy PM Tran Hong Ha expressed gratitude on behalf of the Government to the leaders, officials, employees, workers in the transport sector, contractors, and consulting units for their hard work. They made great efforts, coming up with innovative mindsets and solutions, and showing high determination to overcome challenges caused by the pandemic and adverse weather conditions. They also proposed technical solutions suitable to the actual site conditions, working diligently even during holidays on the construction site in order to promptly complete key items of the project. The Deputy PM also praised the active participation of various Central and local ministries, departments.

With the determination to overcome any obstacles, the strong support and guidance from the State, MOT and localities as well as efforts of contractors and related parties, the NH 45 - Nghi Son and Nghi Son - Dien Chau projects completed their main items and was temporarily opened to traffic on September 2 to serve road users during the National Day holiday, and fully completed on October 18, 2023. The Deputy PM called for immediate action to carry out the second phase of the project, build rest-stops and intersections connecting with traffic systems of the localities in the region.
