The bridge spans Provincial Road No. 8 and a mountainous valley in the northeast of Khanh Binh Commune, Khanh Vinh District, Khanh Hoa Province. Construction began on July 20, 2023, immediately after the site was handed over. The original contract scheduled a 34-month timeline for the bridge.

Previously, challenges arose due to the difficult terrain and the presence of thousands of square meters of forest, requiring changes in the project scope. Site clearance delays extended the project by 7 months.

The M2 pier's location in high mountains posed transportation difficulties, and geological discrepancies required additional drilling to adjust the bored pile lengths. These complications risked slowing down the overall progress of the Van Phong-Nha Trang Expressway.

Vinaconex contractor worked closely with Project Management Unit No. 7 (project’s investor) and Tram Huong Forestry One Member Co., Ltd. (forest owner) to coordinate site clearance. With approval from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Khanh Hoa’s People’s Committee, the necessary areas were cleared, allowing construction to resume.

The presence of telecommunications infrastructure and a 22KV power line crossing the N2 span also created obstacles. Vinaconex collaborated with Khanh Vinh Power Company to relocate these utilities, ensuring a safe construction environment and minimizing delays.
