PRELIMINARY CONFERENCE OF THE CORPORATION’S TRADE UNION WORK IN THE FIRST 6 MONTHS, IMPLEMENTING KEY TASKS IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS OF 2022

On the morning of July 30, the Trade Union of VINACONEX Corporation held a Preliminary Conference to assess its activities in the first 6 months and implement key tasks in the second half of 2022.

It was honored to have the presence of Mr. Pham Xuan Hai - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam National Union of Building Workers (VNUBW), and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Member of the Standing Committee and Chief of the Office of VNUBW at the conference.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dong, Member of the Board of Directors, General Director of Vinaconex, and other members of the Board of Directors, Board of Directors, attended the meeting as representative leaders of the Corporation.

Attending the conference on behalf of the Corporation's Trade Union were members of the Standing Committee, Executive Committee, Inspection Committee, heads and deputy heads of committees under the Corporation’s Trade Union, the Trade Union’s President, and officials in charge of trade union accounting of grassroots trade unions under the Vinaconex’s system.

In the first six months of 2022, the Covid-19 pandemic was basically under control, and business activities and trade union work were carried out under new normal conditions. Following the guidance of the Party Committee, the BOD, the Advisory Council, and VNUBW, as well as coordinating closely and regularly with the Corporation’s Executive Board, the Corporation’s Trade Union was able to complete well successfully working tasks in the first six months of 2022, allowing the Corporation and its units to go forward with the tasks of the 2022 production and business plan.

The Trade Union has achieved numerous outstanding accomplishments in the first half of 2022, including taking good care of the well-being of the employees, and workers, especially supporting Trade union members during the Covid-pandemic; organizing activities during the Lunar New Year; promoting the role of trade union officials and trade union organization in representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members, and creating a supportive and pleasant workplace for employees and union members; propagating, educating and movement to inspire patriotism, Party fostering and development among cadres and union members; building a strong trade union, organizing women's activities, etc.

After Mrs. Nguyen Thi Mai Huong, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Trade Union's finance committee, presented the financial report of the trade union in 2021 and its preliminary review in the first half part of 2022, the delegates continued to listen to Mr. Nguyen Hai Lam, Vice Chairman of the Corporation's Trade Union presenting 18 key tasks of Vinaconex Trade Union in the last six months of the year as well as the Guidance on certain topics to consider in preparation for the organization of the Trade Union Congress, tenure 2023-2028 that was presented by Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy – Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Trade Union’s Organizing Committee of the Corporation.

Under the chair of the Trade Union’s President, the Conference's delegates also discussed and reported on the situation at the grass-roots trade unions, sharing their practical operating experiences. They also contributed ideas to the draft report and decided on the main objectives of the Corporation's trade union work for the final half of 2022;

At the conference, the Corporation’s Trade Union announced the decision and awarded the rewards of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Vietnam National Union of Building Workers to typical Vinaconex collectives and individuals in order to honor, and encourage them to continue striving to fulfill their business and production tasks as well as to participate in trade union activities actively.

In his remarks, Mr. Pham Xuan Hai - Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Union of Building Workers (VNUBW) acknowledged and praised the efforts and accomplishments of Vinaconex’s Trade Union made in the first half of 2022, particularly the work of ensuring the material and spiritual well-being of union members and employees during the Covid-19 pandemic; The trade union had timely and suitable activities in accordance with the new situation;

Mr. Pham Xuan Hai advised Vinaconex’s Trade Union to concentrate on enhancing the role of trade union, complying with the directive, accompanying and sharing with the upper-level Trade Unions, Party Committee, Board of Directors, Board of Members, and Board of Management of Vinaconex about the facing obstacles in order to well carry out the preparation, the organization of all-level Trade Union Congress for the tenure 2023 - 2028 as planned and successfully implement the production and business tasks of units in the Vinaconex system as well as take better care of the well being of Vinaconex’s union members and employees.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, President of the Corporation's Trade Union, thanked upper-level trade unions and Vinaconex’s leaders for their attention, guidance, coordination, assistance, and facilitation over the past years so that Vinaconex’s trade union could fully perform its duties, obligations and achieved honorable outcomes specified in the preliminary report.

He also affirmed that thanks to the support of VNUBW and the leaders of the Corporation, as well as the innovation in mindset, awareness, and working methods of the trade union members, the trade union work of Vinaconex in the next time would become more practical, more effective, and able to support and contribute more to the development of the trade union as well as the Corporation's production and business activities. Specifically, the Corporation's Trade Union would direct and hold the congresses of the grassroots trade unions, tenure 2023-2028 then move forward with the successful organization of the Corporation's Trade Union Congress, deserving the trust of VNUBW’s leaders.
