THE 2ND CONGRESS OF THE 6TH EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF VINACONEX CORPORATION’S TRADE UNION, TENURE OF 2023-2028

On June 29, Vinaconex Corporation’s Trade Union held an extended congress of the 6th Executive Committee to review the trade union’s activities for the year's first half and to carry out tasks for the last half of 2023. The congress was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Corporation’s Trade Union.
The congress took place in the presence of the comrade members of the Standing Committee, Executive Committee, Inspection Committee, the heads and deputy heads of the professional divisions under the Corporation’s Trade Union, and the Presidents of the trade unions of grassroots units under the Corporation.
This is the 2nd congress of the 6th Executive Committee of Corporation’s Trade Union, tenure of 2023-2028.
The congress was held both in person and online, there were meeting place at Corporation's HQ (for Hanoi area units) and nine other places at grassroots trade unions throughout the system.

During the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Corporation’s Trade Union carried out a series of tasks, including: (1) Requesting opinions on the matters under the control of the Trade Union’s Executive Committee for the term of 2023 to 2028, such as the full-term activity program, Executive Committee's working regulations, tasks assigned to the 6th Standing Committee and Executive Committee; (2) Briefly reporting on the trade union's activities during the first six months of the year, as well as outlining the key tasks to be accomplished during the last half of 2023.
The achievements of the Corporation’s Trade Union in the first half of 2023 have been truly remarkable, particularly in organizing Trade Union Congress at all levels, as well as the 6th Trade Union Congress of the term of 2023 - 2028 (The Upper-Level Trade Union Congress of Vietnam National Union of Building Workers). The meeting included the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, representatives from the Ministry of Construction, the Hanoi Party Committee, and Vietnam National Union of Building Workers, Presidents of the upper-level trade unions of enterprises under VNUBW. That has reiterated the pivotal role the trade union organization plays within enterprises, such as representing, protecting and caring for the legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees; engaging in activities; supporting the heroic Vietnamese Mother; educating union members and employees; organizing patriotic emulation movements; promoting women's work.

Based on those achievements, the Corporation’s Trade Union has planned out the objectives for the last six months of 2023. These tasks include (1) developing the full-term activity program and working regulations for the 6th Executive Committee, assigning tasks for the 6th Standing Committee & Executive Committee. (2) Promoting and organizing sports, cultural, and artistic events to commemorate important occasions of the country and the construction industry, celebrating the 35th anniversary of Corporation's establishment in line with the guidance of the Party Committee, welcoming the upcoming 14th Congress of Vietnam National Union of Building Workers and the 13th Congress of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL). (3) Encouraging union members and employees to maintain a proactive, flexible, and innovative approach to their work in order to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency, as well as stimulate labor emulation movements. (4) Continuing to prioritize the well-being and welfare of union members and employees. (5) Effectively overseeing the development of union members and the establishment of a robust trade union organization, while nurturing and recommending outstanding union members for admission to the Party. (6) Encouraging units to actively participate in the One Million Initiatives - efforts to overcome difficulties, boosts creativity and determination to win the Covid-19 pandemic" program initiated by the VGCL. (7) Managing trade union finances effectively. (8) Conducting a thorough review of the labor union movement and trade union activities in 2023, and formulating key objectives for trade unions at all levels in the system for 2024.

Additionally, during the program, the President of the Corporation's Trade Union provided comprehensive information to the participants about the plans to arrange various events to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Corporation's establishment under the guidance of the Party Committee, Board of Directors of the Corporation. The aim is to organize truly meaningful events with Vinaconex employees being the primary participants in activities such as the official celebration, cultural, artistic, sports activities, and so on, which would attract a considerable number of union members and employees to partake.

After Mr. Nguyen Hai Lam – Deputy President of the Corporation's Trade Union presented the report on the plan to organize sports activities and events, the congress discussed and approved the topics outlined in the program. With a high consensus rate, Congress approved the full-term activity program, working regulations for the 6th Executive Committee, tasks assigned for the Standing Committee & Executive Committee of the Corporation for the term 2023-2028. The Congress also approved the content of the preliminary report on the labor movement and trade union activities in the first 6 months of the year and the implementation of key tasks in the last 6 months of 2023. There was a high consensus in encouraging and registering to participate in labor-production emulation movements, and cultural, artistic, and sports activities to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Corporation’s establishment, towards welcoming the 14th Congress of Vietnam National Union of Building Workers and the 13th Congress of VGCL.

In his concluding speech at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Standing Deputy Secretary and President of the Trade Union of the Corporation, expressed his gratitude for the solidarity, support, and significant contributions of the Corporation's leaders, leaders of member units, and all employees throughout the system for their activities in the past. Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong highly values the contributions of the participants and believes that, with a spirit of unity, innovation, and creativity, the Trade Union would complete the tasks for the remaining 6 months in 2023 successfully. One of the key tasks is to effectively promote and organize activities celebrating the 35th anniversary of Vinaconex's establishment and the 5th anniversary of the Corporation's transformation into a non-state-owned enterprise, thereby contributing to the Corporation's overall success and enhancing the reputation and brand of Vinaconex./.
