With the aim to complete the entire Ring Road 2, over the past time, the workers at the Vinh Tuy Bridge phase 2 project have been working actively all day and night. 

Vinh Tuy Bridge phase 2 has a total investment of over VND 2,500 billion. The bridge has a total length of more than 3.4 kilometers including the approaches, with a surface width of 19.25 meters (4 lanes), and a static height of 11 meters.

Sharing to the reporters, Mr. Do Viet Thang, Managing Director of Package 5 said: “We’re now working on the T74HL and T76H L pillars in package 5, involving about 30 officers and workers. The construction site has 2 construction sections working in 3 consecutive shifts. It’s estimated that we have reached 25% of the total workload.”

Due to the complicated evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic, the contractor has added a lot of indicators at the Ministry of Health's request as well as for all propagating to workers not to gather outside the construction site, having meals right inside camps in shifts, and following social distancing.

The bridge was designed with permanent reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete structures with design load HL-93, and could withstand earthquakes of grade 8 in accordance to TCVN11823-2017. Even though the underground construction site was covered up and the pumps were also set up, it would still be very challenging in case of heavy rain causing flooding.

On the construction site of the Le Van Luong - Khuat Duy Tien underpass, dozens of workers were in rush to deploy pile pressing of pumping station construction before the rainy season arrived.

Le Van Luong - Khuat Duy Tien underpass project was kicked off in October 2020 with a total investment of nearly VND700 billion, and scheduled for completion after months. This 475-meter-long underpass is made of a reinforced concrete structure in the direction of Le Van Luong - To Huu street, including a 95-meter underground tunnel and 380 meters of access and exit ramps (each ramp is 190 meters long).

Engineer Tran Phuong Nam, in charge of the project site, shared with the reporters that there were 50 – 60 permanent workers working urgently in 9 construction sections to complete two underground culverts for water drainage in the upcoming rainy season.

He also mentioned that every morning, all employees and workers had to measure body temperature, disinfect hands and put on masks before entering the construction site. There was also a monitor group to watch over and record every person entering and departing the site in order to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic.

The underground culverts item, which has been 95% completed, is considered very important to the project.

As the reporter noted, the narrowing of both sidewalks was executed by workers to broaden the 315-meter length of Le Van Luong street, and the 390-meter length of To Huu street.
