For the first time, an in-depth training program on special construction - nuclear power plant construction - has been launched through a partnership between VINACONEX and Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, opening a strategic pathway for workforce development in engineering fields that demand the highest standards.
On April 24, 2026, VINACONEX Joint Stock Company, in collaboration with Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE), held the opening ceremony for the first cohort of the Construction Engineering course specializing in Special Construction Engineering (Nuclear Power Plant Construction).
Attending the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Phu Doanh - Vice Rector of HUCE
Representing VINACONEX were Mr. Dao Ngoc Thanh - Chairman of the Corporation's Strategic Council; Mr. Nguyen Khac Hai - Deputy General Director; and other employees and engineers of the Corporation.
The training program is being launched as Vietnam pursues strong development in high-tech, specialized industries and infrastructure, with nuclear energy identified as a key pillar of the nation's long-term strategy.
In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Phu Doanh emphasized that this is a significant milestone in university-industry collaboration, opening a journey to train the first generation of engineers who will participate in nuclear power plant construction in Vietnam. HUCE is committed to mobilizing an experienced team of lecturers and experts, along with a modern training system, to ensure the quality and practical applicability of graduates.
He affirmed that training technical human resources in Special Construction Engineering (nuclear power plant construction) holds exceptional significance for both the corporation's and the nation's development. This is also a great honor and responsibility for the engineers, who will become pioneers trained to participate in building nuclear power plants in Vietnam. He added that building on the success of the program that trained 34 high-speed railway construction engineers, this course will lay the groundwork for VINACONEX's first generation of engineers to work on special projects, contributing to the gradual mastery of technology and enhancing capabilities for large-scale, technically demanding projects in the future.
Speaking on behalf of the first cohort, Mr. Tran Quang Trung, a VINACONEX engineer, expressed deep gratitude for the support from the Corporation's leadership and HUCE. He affirmed that this is a vital opportunity to advance professional expertise and meet the ever-increasing demands of the construction industry. The trainees are committed to serious study, proactive research, and rigorous training to fulfill the corporation's expectations and contribute to building sustainable infrastructure for society.
The opening ceremony of the first training cohort marks an important milestone, reaffirming VINACONEX's consistent commitment to developing high-quality human resources - a key factor in enhancing competitiveness and preparing the corporation to participate in strategic sectors and special national projects in the new development era.
