On the morning of December 3, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conducted an inspection of the Long Thanh International Airport construction site and its connecting traffic infrastructure. 

Joining Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the working session were members of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Ministers Tran Hong Ha and Ho Duc Phoc, along with representatives from central ministries and agencies.

At the Long Thanh airport project site in Long Thanh district, Dong Nai province, Prime Minister Chinh and his delegation inspected the progress of package no. 6.12 (construction of two airport connecting roads), package no. 5.10 (passenger terminal construction and equipment installation), and package no. 4.6 (construction of airport runway).

According to reports at the working session, component project no.2 (Air Traffic Control Tower) has the reinforced concrete structure completed, with ongoing work on the tower extension beyond the 15th floor. As for component project no.3 (Passenger Terminal), the reinforced concrete work is 100% complete, with finishing works now underway. The runway construction progress is reportedly three months ahead of the contractual schedule, etc.

PM Chinh and the Central working delegation worked on the progress of the Long Thanh airport project.

During the working session, PM Chinh expressed concern over inconsistencies and a lack of synchronization in task execution at the construction site. He urged stakeholders to establish a critical path, adhere to a rolling schedule, and maintain close, rhythmic coordination to accelerate progress.

He also assigned Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha to directly oversee and conduct monthly inspections to ensure timelines are met. The Ministry of Transport and relevant agencies shall prioritize the implementation of Component Project No. 4 to ensure its completion aligns with Component Project No. 3 and other component projects.

At the Long Thanh airport construction project, Vinaconex is honored to be the first contractor to complete the steel roof structure for the Long Thanh terminal steel structure.

Package No. 5.10 Construction and Installation of Passenger Terminal Equipment under the Component No. 3 project of the Long Thanh International Airport (phase 1).

In the assigned work, contractor VINACONEX, under the Vietur consortium, has successfully completed 100% of the underground structure and the reinforced concrete work for floors 1F, 2F, 3F, and 4F

In the central area and the wing area, the fabrication of the basic roof structure has been finalized.

In December, VINACONEX contractor accelerated progress on erecting steel structures, including main trusses, braces, and purlins, in both the central and wing areas of the terminal while simultaneously working on the ground floor slab.

The Long Thanh Airport Passenger Terminal, comprising one ground floor and three upper levels, has a total investment of approximately VND 35 trillion. Construction began on August 31, 2023. Currently, the join venture is operating tirelessly, day and night, with a commitment to rapid construction, aimingto complete the project while ensuring high quality and adherence to the timeline
