According to a representative from the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), the steel roof structure for the passenger terminal is valued at around VND 3.5 trillion, accounting for approximately 10% of the total contract value for the terminal project.The construction requires about 32,000 tons of steel for the roof frame of Long Thanh Airport passenger terminal phase 1.Workers and engineers lifted steel structures to install the roof of the Long Thanh Airport passenger terminal.Workers carried out the assembly process after the steel components had been transported to the roof site.Installation is progressing on the steel frame for the terminal's two wings, with completion of the main roof structure expected by this September. The passenger terminal is considered the “heart” of Long Thanh Airport Phase 1. In addition to the steel roof installation, the construction units are constructing the terminal's concrete floor and main pillars.Meanwhile, Package no.4 & 6, which covers the runway runway and the aircraft parking lot is under construction of the finishing concrete layer.The Long Thanh Airport runway package is expected to be completed by April 30, 2025, three months ahead of schedule.The Control Tower project, part of Component No. 2 and invested by the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation, is also under accelerated construction.According to ACV, the first phase of Long Thanh International Airport is expected to be completed and enter trial operations before August 31, 2026, and is scheduled to welcome its first commercial flight on September 2, 2026.The Long Thanh Airport project, located in Long Thanh District, Dong Nai Province, is a major national investment, with a total estimated cost exceeding $16 billion, divided into three phases.
