As part of practical action series to join hands with the entire country to prevent epidemics, on August 30, 2021, VINACONEX Corporation donated more than VND 500 million to the COVID-19 Prevention and Control Fund in Thanh Oai and Thanh Tri districts, Hanoi, the areas face many difficulties due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the morning of August 30, at Thanh Tri District's Command Center for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, Mr. Nguyen Tien Cuong, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of Thanh Tri District People's Committee received financial support from Vietnam Import-Export and Construction Corporation VINACONEX of VND 300 million for the district's Covid-19 Prevention and Control Fund.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tien Cuong, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of Thanh Tri District People's Committee thanked Vinaconex and other enterprises for contributing to the COVID-19 Prevention and Control Fund, supporting teachers and staff on the eve of the new school year as well as people in the district's blockade areas. In addition to the dramatic engagement of the whole political system and competent forces, the noble gestures and joint efforts from each collective and individual are great motivations for Thanh Tri district's determination to propel the Covid-19 epidemic.
On August 30, VINACONEX also donated VND 200 million in the program of distributing presents to families in difficult circumstances, receiving donations for the COVID-19 Prevention And Control Fund in Thanh Oai district, City Hanoi.
Thanh Oai is a suburban district comprised of 21 communes and towns. Many residents there have lost their jobs as a result of the pandemic. Mr. Bui Hoang Phan, Secretary of Thanh Oai District Party Committee, truly appreciated the devotion of sponsors and enterprises who have contributed to the prevention and control of the epidemic and offered significant presents to the people in the area. This was a great source of encouragement and strength for the Party Committee, the government, and the people there to resolve to prevent and repel the epidemic. He also guaranteed that the received funds would be used effectively and the presents would be distributed to the right households in a timely manner.
When the COVID-19 pandemic first flared up in Vietnam, VINACONEX has donated more than VND 20 billion to Covid-19 disease prevention and control activities. This is not only the corporate social responsibility but also the care and enthusiasm of more than 10,000 VINACONEX employees towards the community as they spent their one day’s salary as a small contribution to “fighting the epidemic like fighting against the enemy.” VINACONEX and its member units are going to conduct more donation and support activities for COVID-19 prevention and control in the coming time.
