On July 14, 2021, in Hanoi, Project Management Unit 6 under the Ministry of Transport (MOT), and the joint venture of Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Corporation (Vinaconex) and the Mien Trung Construction Group signed a contract for package XL03, with a winning bid of over VND 1,266 billion includeing: construction and installation, survey, construction drawing design for section from Km 405+00 to Km 419+600, a component construction projects invest in the construction under the Estern North - South Expressway in the term of 2017 – 2020; The contract term is 24 months.
The Nghi Son – Dien Chau component project under the North - South Expressway spans 50 kilometers passing through the two provinces of Thanh Hoa and Nghe An. The project has a total investment of about VND 7,293 under the PPP mode with the 2 years construction period.
Speaking at the contract signing ceremony, Mr. Tran Huu Tai, Acting Director of PMU6 requested the contractors to mobilized all human resources and machinery to carry out the project as soon as posible with the best quality and progress; attempting to deploy the XL03 package, which would be one of the model packages for the entire Nghi Son - Dien Chau project, and the North - South expressway project in general.
On behalf of the joint venture contractors, the Standing Deputy General Director of Vinaconex – Mr Duong Van Mau committed that he would gather adequate machinery and human resources to deploy the project within one week. At the same time, the contractors would work hard to complete the project on time while ensuring best quality.
The Vinaconex - Mien Trung Construction Group joint venture winning the aforesaid package is recognised to include highly reputable and prospective contractors that have worked on many significant infrastructure projects.
Vinaconex is a major contractor for traffic projects as a participant in a number of high-value projects using public investment capital, such as component projects of the Eastern North-South Expressway (XL03 Phan Thiet - Dau Giay section, 04-XL Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet section); Vinh Tuy bridge project phase 2, etc.
As for Mien Trung Construction Group, the company was involved in the construction of the following projects: Western Ring road project in Thanh Hoa city connecting to the National Highway (NH) 1A; Section from Ba Gian bridge – intersection of the bypass AND Le Loi highway under the project of upgrading and expanding NH 1A, section Doc Xay in Thanh Hoa city; the project of upgrading and expanding NH217; investor of the project to build and exploit infrastructure of Lam Son – Sao Vang Industrial Park, Thanh Hoa, etc.
Currently, Vinaconex and Mien Trung Construction Group have also implemented the package Xl 14 of Mai Son section, NW45.
