GROUNDBREAKING HELD FOR LIEN KHUONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT UPGRADE

On March 4, 2026, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), in collaboration with the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, held a groundbreaking ceremony for “the Runway and Taxiway Rehabilitation Project at Lien Khuong International Airport”. VINACONEX is honored to participate as the contractor for Package No. 9, covering construction and equipment supply and installation.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from central government agencies, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), contractors, and other stakeholders.
Representing VINACONEX at the event was Mr. Pham Thai Duong, Deputy General Director of the Corporation and Director of Project Management Board No. 1.

In his remarks, Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong, Deputy General Director of ACV, emphasized the critical need to upgrade Lien Khuong Airport. He noted that the project demonstrates a strong commitment to enhancing operational safety and ensuring the sustainable development of this international airport in Lam Dong and the wider region.

The Lien Khuong International Airport project is a Grade I aviation infrastructure undertaking with a total investment of VND 1,032 billion. The scope includes complete repair of the runway, taxiways, runway end safety areas, and technical infrastructure systems supporting flight operations.

With the vision of “Enhancing Operational Capacity - Connecting the Future”, the project not only restores the airfield's structural integrity but also serves as a strategic stepping stone toward realizing the master plan for Lien Khuong International Airport to achieve 4E classification, capable of accommodating modern wide-body aircraft such as the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787. This lays a solid foundation for reaching 5 million passengers annually by 2030 and 7 million passengers by 2050.
To facilitate construction, Lien Khuong International Airport will suspend all operations from 00:00 on March 4, 2026, to 23:59 on August 25, 2026.
Drawing on extensive experience implementing large-scale infrastructure projects, VINACONEX is committed to working closely with the investor and relevant parties, mobilizing resources to ensure timely, high-quality, and safe construction. VINACONEX aims to contribute to the early commissioning of the upgraded facility, boosting economic and tourism development in Lam Dong province and the Central Highlands region.
