Vinaconex Corporation’s Trade Union Get Ready For The Congress

The Trade Union of Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Corporation was honored to be chosen by the Vietnam National Union of Building Workers to organize the 6th Upper-Level Trade Union Congress for the term 2023-2028, which would take place on April 17-18, 2023.

The period of 2018 to 2023 was very special for Vinaconex’s Trade Union. At the end of 2018, Vinaconex officially operated under the business model without state capital.  At the end of 2019, the Covid-19 pandemic flared up. In such situation, the Corporation's Trade Union not only took good care and protected legitimate rights and interests of employees, assisted the Corporation in stabilizing the organization, actively propagated and encouraged employees to believe in the reliability of the corporate restructuring policy; but also worked with the government and authorities to effectively implement the Covid-19 vaccination programs, timely support trade union members and employees affected by the pandemic; as well as carried out a number of social and charity activities with the goal of “leaving no one behind”.

Responding to the call of Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee “All people unite, strive to prevent and control COVID-19”, Vinaconex Trade Union made a donation of VND 500 million; Supported union members and employees, who were suspended from work, worked alternate shifts, or required to implement the “three-on-the-spot” policy; donated equipment and supplies for epidemic prevention and control at projects and construction sites; made a donation of VND 500 million to the Corporation’s Covid-19 prevention fund; assisted the F0 employees in 9 times with a total amount of almost VND 950 million; Advised the Corporation leaders to donate to the Covid-19 prevention and control fund, which has a total value of more than VND 6.3 billion, as well as many other charity activities. Throughout the tenure, trade unions at all levels in the VINACONEX system have always done a good job of visiting, and offering practical and spiritual assistance to union members and employees who are sick or in tough circumstances, with a total of VND 4.4 billion.

When the Covid-19 outbreak was basically under control in 2022, Vinaconex’s Trade Union immediately resumed emulation movements, cultural, and sporting activities across the system, gaining the enthusiastic involvement of employees. Particularly, Vinaconex Trade Union encouraged its member units’ unions to take part in the “One million initiatives - efforts to overcome difficulties, be creative and determined to win the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic” program launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour. It’s estimated that the total benefit from the program throughout the entire tenure is around VND 289.4 billion.

Vinaconex Trade Union was honored to have union members rewarded at the Conference to honor typical advanced, and creative workers in the construction industry in 2019 and 2022; Five typical presidents of grassroots trade unions under the Corporation were honored on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the VNUBW’s establishment with many noble titles and won over the trust of VNUBW to organize the Congress.

Prepare the best possible conditions for the Corporation’s Trade Union Congress

With a high sense of responsibility, the grassroots trade unions under Vinaconex Trade Union have urgently proposed plans and schemes in preparation for the 6th Trade Union Congress of the Corporation for the term 2023 - 2028. They have also well-prepared and successfully organized the congresses at the grassroots level in line with the direction and guidance of the Party Committee and Trade Union of the Corporation.
 

With the unity and synchronization in the preparation process, the 6th Trade Union Congress of the term of 2023 - 2028 (The Upper-Level Trade Union Congress of Vietnam National Union of Building Workers) is a great chance for the union members and employees to promote their role in performing the assigned political responsibilities, contributing to the advance of the Corporation's production and business activities.
Despite the challenging economic situation, Vinaconex Corporation's management was able to maintain steady production and business activities in all three core areas of  Construction, Real Estate, and Financial investment. The incomes and benefits for employees are preserved and increased, the VINACONEX brand remains its domain foothold in the market.
